Mural for concert venue Merleyn in Nijmegen (NL). I always wanted to do a wet mural, so I grabbed this opportunity with both hands. I took a photo of the view of my studio at dusk as the starting point, using the geometric outline, the yellowish hue of the window frame and the blue to pink gradient of the evening sky as guidelines. After that the 'nostalgic pictorial portal' made place for working with the material, applying paint and water, letting it flow and responding to whatever happens.

After a few months, the mural was painted over by the next artist, cementing my window view in the many layers of murals that came before and after me. To be honest, it feels kind of nice to be part of this collective whole.
