Drawing and inkjet printer on prepared paper.

After three years of running Broken Toaster Records, a tragic harddrive crash resulted in me losing a big part of documentation of the performances we did up until then. In a frantic effort to to retain some of the past, I collected any material I could find and printed it on my crappy inkjet printer. I decided to put a thick layer of structured gesso on the papers sheets before running them through the printer, resulting in beautiful errors and artifacts. I then took the prints and drew on top of them, adding fantastical elements as well as context clues about the stories and 'vibes' surround certain performances. I see these two series as the start of my interest in nostalgia as material, informed intuition and the application of mixed media in painting.
